Der schwarze Hengst ist eigentlich kaum als ein einzelner Film kohärent.
Es ist eher wie zwei Kurzfilme und dann ein separater, fast eigenständiger Film.
Ich mag den zweiten Kurzfilm am liebsten.

Der erste Kurzfilm ist das Schiffsunglück (0:00 bis 0:17), das mir einen Respekt vor dem Ozean gegeben hat, von dem ich mich nie erholt habe.
Der zweite Kurzfilm (0:17 bis 0:45) ist das Pferd und der Junge, gestrandet auf der verlassenen Insel.

Der zweite Kurzfilm ist ~28 Minuten lang und eine der längsten einzelnen Sequenzen ohne Dialog in einem Feature.
Ich hatte es im Loop.
Die Sequenz ist eher mädchenhaft kodiert
Unser Kind ist ein Junge, und er möchte nur den wettbewerbsorientierten dritten Akt sehen.

Spent the weekend rereading the Walter Farley Black Stallion books, which made me think of the current "where are all the books for young boys" discussions... because those are totally great books for boys. I know the instinct nowadays is "horse story = girl thing" but these are sports books, structured like sports movies, and they're about competition, power, and speed! They hold up well. I only wish there were more things like them. I loved them as a kid and I still love them now.🏇
