With GENIUS Act now law, Amazon + Walmart are coming onchain.
(+ more retailers following behind)
Stablecoin rails could double grocery margins and add 60% to retailer valuations by removing payment friction.
And you’d be surprised how many web2 CFOs are looking into stables now:
- grocery stores already operate on 1-3% margins. All of their payment fees are brutal to their small margins.
- stablecoin payments flip this. near-zero fees, instant settlement, no chargebacks.
- walmart processes $600B+ annually. saving 1% on payment costs = $6B straight to bottom line.
Plus they gain speed advantage on top of cost savings.
Instant settlement means better cash flow. real-time payments enable stuff that wasn't possible before.
The GENIUS Act gave retailers the regulatory clarity they were waiting for.
Super excited for all the pilot programs coming in Q4 2025 (full rollouts expected by 2026).

A chain on its own is an incomplete product.

prediction: won’t be long before we see chains acquiring and building their own killer apps themselves

I moved my family to Malaysia to work directly with local builders.
@TerezaBizkova asked me why in our @hackernoon interview.
And to me it’s quite simple: there's a certain prestige in partnering with Harvard or Cambridge. but what excites me is working with universities in Thailand or Laos.
So much untapped talent. bright, driven people who just need a door to open.
They can't exactly board the next flight to SF and plug into VC networks. even if they could get a visa, cost makes it unreachable.
But here's what i've learned: the builders in these regions have something different. grit. sharp economic awareness from navigating systems that don't play fair.
That environment breeds builders who aren't chasing hype. they're solving for something urgent and real.
That's why i believe builders in these regions are going to shape the open economy.
That’s why we’re building @_openeconomy.
In Season 1 of Campus, 14 teams flew in first season - from US, Canada, Kenya, India.
The energy was incredible, they shipped really cool projects, but also formed life-long connections between themselves. Truly magical.
And btw, Season 2 just launched last week.

We're pre-announcing Cloak.
Cause we're a bit too excited.
It's auditable privacy for institutional defi.

10 years ago, a smallholder coffee farmer had limited access to credit.
Now, thanks to @ethereum and our believers like @ayahq_ and @Scroll_ZKP, a smallholder coffee farmer in Embu owns assets onchain and is connected to global investors.
Believe in Something.
