Many of you will build wealth during this cycle, so I wanted to share a bit of philosophy to my followers here for those who might find it valuable... As you look toward the future or even present and ask, “What now?” some of these ideas may resonate in how you decide to live your life. One philosopher who has deeply influenced me is Friedrich Nietzsche, particularly his concept of the will to power. Nietzsche is complex but you can understand the will to power by comparing it to other views of life. Darwin saw life as driven by survival. Freud believed sex was the core motivator. Nietzsche rejected both. He believed the fundamental drive of life for humans isn’t survival, pleasure, or comfort, but power. Not “power” in the conventional sense of politics or wealth, but rather: the power to express yourself, the power to create and the power to overcome. It's the drive to expand, assert, reshape, build, and transcend. I’m not particularly religious, but every religion sees gods as creators, while animals consume. When we create, we become more godlike. When we only consume, we regress into something less. Modern life is centered around dopamine, comfort, and safety but I believe this focus robs life of meaning. I’ve seen it firsthand as I’ve reconnected with old friends. My hedonistic friends, always chasing the next dopamine hit, are restless and unhappy. The ones who chose the safe path are quietly bored..trapped in lives that don’t allow for expression, growth, or adventure. In my own life, I’ve never chosen the safest route. I’ve chosen the one that adds meaning, builds strength, and makes for a story worth telling later. Physically, I’ve pushed myself to the edge as a powerlifter: 350 bench, 530 deadlift, 500+ squat just to see what I’m capable of. I’ve chased beauty and discovery across the world..riding motorcycles through Florida and California, exploring 10+ countries…not locked in a cage or cubicle, but immersed in life. Now, I’m building GammaSwap. It is a protocol I believe in within an industry that reflects my values: permissionless, decentralized, and a shield against government tyranny. It gives me room to create, to express myself, and to build something that benefits others. I’m often stressed but I’ve never felt more fulfilled. When I think about my children, I can feel confident they will look at my life and feel proud (hopefully) to have some relation to me. More importantly motivation to pursue their lives to the fullest as well. My recommendation to you if you build wealth (or don’t) this cycle is ignore hedonism and pursue a life that challenges you. A life of beauty, a life of creation and a life that pushes you to your very best. The ancient greeks knew the importance of this but it has been lost in our modern life. Take Nietzsche's idea of will to power into account if you want true fulfillment in life.
