Today, our community celebrated Ethereum's 10th anniversary by ringing the closing bell at NASDAQ. The symbolism of this is profound: the closing of Ethereum's first chapter, and the opening of the next. After ten years, the inflection point has arrived, and mass adoption is upon us. Wall Street was just a river away from the industrial Brooklyn loft where Consensys was founded over 10 years ago, but at the time it felt like an ocean. But I can't say I didn't see this moment coming: the technology, and its promise, is irresistible. We worked to seed a new ecosystem and onboard TradFi to DeFi, with a mission to rebuild the global financial system. And together, we're doing it.

Celebrating 10 years of Ethereum! Since its genesis block in 2015, Ethereum has demonstrated non-stop uptime, proving itself as the definition of antifragile. It has continually evolved to serve as a reliable trust layer for our fast-growing digital world.

Once you see how powerful and transformative decentralization is and will be, you can't un-see it. TradFi will indeed move onto DeFi, even while many elements of Ethereum and DeFi will continue to progressively decentralize. It was always the plan to move the entire world onto decentralized rails, in parallel to building many next generation decentralized structures de nouveau.

Bitcoin is and always will be a special snowflake. Satoshi released one of the most powerful inventions in human history into the world: decentralized trust. And Satoshi showed us how to mechanize and operationalize it. Dual Nobel Economics and Peace Prize level. Over the next years and decades, decentralization will spread and cover every inhabited corner of the world, and it will be the giant hardened glaciers of Ethereum that form the basis of the new decentralized trust foundation of the world and upon that the new decentralized global financial infrastructure of the world. People and communities all over the world will be doing front flips and back flips of joy at their newfound economic and political agency.
