How did Ethereum staking perform in H1 2025? What changed at the protocol level? We’re excited to share a detailed report with in-depth analysis of validator performance and key network developments. Full report here: 👉
1/ Pectra Upgrade on May 7, 2025. Ethereum’s biggest update since Shanghai. It brought a lot of new things: • Increased the number of blobs in a block (EIP-7691). • Increased the maximum effective balance for validators from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH (EIP-7251). • Smart-contract powers for regular wallets (EIP-7702). • 11 EIPs total - focused on UX, staking, scaling, and security.
2/ Network Growth: • +31.5M new addresses in H1 2025 (almost the entire 2024 total). • Daily active users grew from ~380K to ~420K. • Daily transaction count up 9.3%, avg ~1.28M/day. • Peak months: March–April, ahead of Pectra.
6/ But not everything was positive, some serious incidents also occurred. Most notably: • February 21: 401K ETH (~at that time $1.5B) stolen from Bybit. • ETH dropped $2,845 → $2,600. • And bottomed near $1,400 in April.
