One prediction I got wrong is that 2024 would be the last “normal” year, in the sense that this year we would be regularly interacting over video and voice with non-humans in a way that blurred the line of personhood. The AI systems seem capable of it, why isn’t it happening?

Maybe it’s happening in niche communities but just not wide yet? I felt like I would be hopping on Zoom to talk to my LLM cofounder this year. Maybe it’s a bad interface?
