het is meer als twee korte films, en dan een aparte, bijna op zichzelf staande film
een ik vind de tweede korte het leukst

de eerste korte film is het schipbreuk (0:00 tot 0:17), wat me een respect voor de oceaan gaf waar ik nooit van ben hersteld
de tweede korte film (0:17 tot 0:45) is het paard en de jongen, gestrand op het verlaten eiland

De film werd gemaakt lang voordat ik werd geboren, en had blijkbaar "de volledige invloed van Francis Ford Coppola nodig" om uitgebracht te worden
Ik keek er als kind keer op keer naar
de tweede korte film is ~28 minuten en een van de langste enkele sequenties zonder dialoog in een speelfilm
ik had het op repeat
de volgorde is nogal meisjesachtig
ons kind is een jongen, en hij wil alleen de competitieve derde akte kijken

Spent the weekend rereading the Walter Farley Black Stallion books, which made me think of the current "where are all the books for young boys" discussions... because those are totally great books for boys. I know the instinct nowadays is "horse story = girl thing" but these are sports books, structured like sports movies, and they're about competition, power, and speed! They hold up well. I only wish there were more things like them. I loved them as a kid and I still love them now.🏇
