A veces tal vez alfa, a veces tal vez shitpost
Hay un lado oscuro en mí mismo que no puedo esperar a ver cómo reaccionará la mayoría de la gente ante el peor de los casos
Pero honestamente, soy muy optimista sobre el futuro, creo que la IA permitirá a la mayoría de las personas prosperar y vivir más tiempo + mejor de lo que realmente somos

Lately i’ve spent a lot of hours listening to podcasts where the smartest people on earth gave their opinions about the near future waiting for us
TL;DR, two scenarios are waiting for us
1. AI becomes so intelligent to rule the world itself, a super intelligent AI would soon understand our presence as humans is not necessary. Optimized decisions based on the most efficient choice to make would wipe out humanity
2. We manage to regulate and control AI, few people get ultra rich (the ones in control), AI gets so smart to do any job, universal basic income becomes the standard, quality of life at all time high, no poverty anymore, everybody can now focus on their passions
Option 2 sounds good right?
But let me tell you something
My privileged position allows me to observe the world and to focus on deep learning
I can do it because i don’t neet anymore to worry anymore about how to survive
I escaped the rat race
Sounds extremely good right?
It’s not
My personal experience is that when a human being loses his life pourpose, he just get lost
We live in a world where your job defines who you are
People live, struggle and put their best efforts into their jobs
What happens when suddenly people lose their jobs and their life purpose?
They simply get lost
People just get depressed
And i can tell you this because i somehow find myself early in the situation
I’ve realized my childhood goals and now i feel lost
Surely i can get more, there is always something more to achieve
But this scenario doesn’t apply to most people: must people work hard just to survive, because they have no choice
I’ve been travelling a lot into south east Asia, and what I found out is most people live happily with the bare minimum
Most people don’t care about ambition, they just need the basics to survive and share their journey with the loved ones
My fear is that even in the most optimistic scenario most people will just enjoy becoming plants, fed by virtual reality and bear minimum food to survive
Scariest scenario is that accordingly to the experts this can happen between 2027 and 2030
That said, i think the average humans should deeply focus on doing whatever they can in order to make it to Elysium
For the ones unfamiliar with the term, i suggest to watch the homonymous movie
You should put every drop of sweat into accumulating as much as you can, because the gap between rich and poor is only going to increase exponentially

Últimamente he pasado muchas horas escuchando podcasts donde las personas más inteligentes del mundo daban sus opiniones sobre el futuro cercano que nos espera
TL; DR, nos esperan dos escenarios
1. La IA se vuelve tan inteligente para gobernar el mundo por sí misma, que una IA súper inteligente pronto entendería que nuestra presencia como humanos no es necesaria. Las decisiones optimizadas basadas en la elección más eficiente a tomar acabarían con la humanidad
2. Logramos regular y controlar la IA, pocas personas se vuelven ultra ricas (las que tienen el control), la IA se vuelve tan inteligente para hacer cualquier trabajo, el ingreso básico universal se convierte en el estándar, la calidad de vida es la más alta de todos los tiempos, ya no hay pobreza, todos ahora pueden concentrarse en sus pasiones
La opción 2 suena bien, ¿verdad?
Pero déjame decirte algo
Mi posición privilegiada me permite observar el mundo y centrarme en el aprendizaje profundo
Puedo hacerlo porque ya no necesito preocuparme más por cómo sobrevivir
Escapé de la carrera de ratas
Suena extremadamente bien, ¿verdad?
No lo es
Mi experiencia personal es que cuando un ser humano pierde su vida, simplemente se pierde
Vivimos en un mundo donde tu trabajo define quién eres
Las personas viven, luchan y ponen su mejor esfuerzo en sus trabajos
¿Qué sucede cuando de repente las personas pierden sus trabajos y su propósito de vida?
Simplemente se pierden
La gente simplemente se deprime
Y puedo decirte esto porque de alguna manera me encuentro al principio de la situación
Me he dado cuenta de mis objetivos de la infancia y ahora me siento perdido
Seguramente puedo conseguir más, siempre hay algo más que lograr
Pero este escenario no se aplica a la mayoría de las personas: ¿deben las personas trabajar duro solo para sobrevivir, porque no tienen otra opción?
He estado viajando mucho por el sudeste asiático, y lo que descubrí es que la mayoría de la gente vive feliz con lo mínimo
A la mayoría de las personas no les importa la ambición, solo necesitan lo básico para sobrevivir y compartir su viaje con sus seres queridos
Mi temor es que incluso en el escenario más optimista, la mayoría de las personas simplemente disfrutarán convirtiéndose en plantas, alimentadas por realidad virtual y con un mínimo de comida para sobrevivir
El escenario más aterrador es que, según los expertos, esto puede suceder entre 2027 y 2030
Dicho esto, creo que los humanos promedio deberían concentrarse profundamente en hacer todo lo posible para llegar a Elysium
Para aquellos que no están familiarizados con el término, sugiero ver la película homónima
Debes poner cada gota de sudor en acumular todo lo que puedas, porque la brecha entre ricos y pobres solo aumentará exponencialmente
