The Polysapien is a 1 of 1 carbon-backed digital art piece commissioned by Polygon Labs in collaboration with Ecosapiens. The Polysapien NFT is underpinned by 1000 tons of CO2 from a number of blockchain-based carbon credit providers including Reseed, Andes.bio, and Solid World. This collectible is dedicated to investing in soil regeneration, mineralization, and mangrove restoration projects that support healthy agriculture and its people, permanently remove CO2 from the atmosphere, and regenerate marine ecosystems respectively. The Polysapien art collectible is a Class 4 Ecosapien. It can transform ecosystems and sequester large amounts of carbon through its polygonal biomineral epi-skeleton, which absorbs light, organisms, and water to power its core bioreactor. These adaptable polymorphic creatures, known as Polysapiens, restore ecosystems using their hyper-polyps that are created from their tentacles and integrated into surrounding biomass. In the case of coral reef restoration, the Polysapien deploys translucent tentacles to cool ocean waters and plants genetically modified coral hyper-polyps capable of withstanding temperature fluctuations to protect the reef's future.
