Introducing: Native Multicast Support on @DoubleZero
The most efficient data transport method for distributed systems.
Messaging will never be the same. Here's why…
Multicast doesn't need to be a dark art. It is used extensively in every major fintech shop because it's the right tech for the job. Today we're announcing that @doublezero is bringing multicast to distributed systems with on-chain provisioning. We're excited to work with developers to integrate this capability into their software!
Networks go down. When they do, automated failover is table stakes for critical infrastructure. Let's take a look at how DoubleZero clients switch between the DZ network and the public internet.
Earlier today I reviewed how @doublezero provides a dedicated, high performance WAN as an alternative to the public internet at @SolanaConf. We can only scratch the surface of networking concepts in talks like this but revamping the underlying plumbing is the key to IBRL.
IBRL mode is now live on DoubleZero testnet. This mode de-risks running validators on DZ because fallback to the public internet is now seamless. Your node will now route packets to other DZ-connected users over the dedicated DoubleZero network while using your hosting provider's upstream connectivity to reach non-DZ-connected nodes.
