Spam, slop & inauthentic reviews plague Ethos today. Sometimes that includes getting reviews for yourself from people you don't know. That Grok probably wrote. EIP-6 (live for voting) is intended to fix that by adding risk to writing reviews ↓
EIP-6 introduces a penalty for positive reviews when downvoted by the recipient. This means that if you got a positive review for yourself and you downvote that review, the sender will LOSE credibility score.
This issue has manifested on Ethos in several ways, - @zacxbt getting reviews as if he are @zachxbt - @vohvohh getting reviews as if she were a man - @ethos_network getting reviews as if it were a smart phone company This usually stems from blind AI usage for reviews
Keep in mind, this only applies for positive reviews and would have no impact if the recipient downvoted a negative or neutral review. We believe this will help change the behavior & reduce the efficacy of people farming and leaving meaningless, inauthentic reviews for people.
The EIP is now live for voting and discussion at the links below.
