On Malaysia and crypto: As my birthplace, Malaysia will always hold a soft spot. So it was heartening this year to see MYBW livelier than expected. In particular I found notable that: 1. @virtuals_io is a new household name. Joining the ranks of Etherscan and Coingecko, we now have another lighthouse in the ecosystem with significant footprint in KL itself, and still expanding too. This cements Malaysia's place as a significant player in all of crypto. 2. @pudgypenguins stronghold in Asia is in Malaysia, with @AaronTeng and @FoxyPenguinApe both based here. Every day there were 1-2 side events by the @pudgymalaysia community, and they were without exception absolutely packed and overflowing with good vibes. Not to mention that insane LED tower light-up. 3. National level institutions were sponsoring side events, and VIP dinners were attended by regulators and traditional investors. Signs of maturity thanks to GENIUS and stablecoins. We are no longer looked upon with disdain, and yet, we are so early. When put alongside fintech, or Asia-based startups, crypto stands out far ahead in terms of disruptive growth potential. And of course, the durian was the best. And don't get me started on the food.
