0/ Ethereum turns 10 today! 🎉
There’s so much to celebrate—but for me, it’s about the becoming of something improbable.
When it was born, I still remember a dev at my old job shrugging it off: “just another s***coin.”
Back then, it felt like a wild dream—and yes, it hit some big bumps early on.
10 years later? Safe to say he was very wrong.
1/ A decade can feel both too short and impossibly long.
There have been hard forks, wild news cycles, booms and busts.
I’m sure everyone has their own memories to reflect on, and it’s hard to choose just a few—but I want to share some meaningful moments through my personal lens (before we talk about more all night 🙂).
They weren’t always headline-grabbing, but I believe their second- and third-order effects will shape Ethereum for years to come.
2/ Devcon Prague.
When I joined Ethereum, the community was growing fast, but lacked diversity in thinking.
I wanted to bring in voices from outside the bubble: @stewartbrand, @brewster_kahle, and others who had dreamed of open networks long before Ethereum.
Stewart’s pace layering continues to influence many, including me. @internetarchive is celebrating 10 trillion pages archived soon, and @EFDevcon hasn’t been the same since.

4/ Latin America.
In 2022, I visited cities across LatAm and saw Ethereum’s potential in public infrastructure.
In Buenos Aires, @fernandezdiego took me to Barrio 31, and right in the heart of a slum, we dreamed about including everyone in the next generation of systems.
It was also where I met the highest number of women in our community—@cryptochica_arg, @pauDoy, and many more.
The momentum in LatAm hasn’t stopped, and I cannot wait to see you again at Devconnect this November.
@candufaz @SEEDLatam @scristobal94 @crecimientoar @ETHKipu
@AndyGuzmanEth @EthereumCR @robertramdev @EthereumCR
@AnaTech_eth @ethereum_mexico
@crisgarner @ethereumTGU_
@robsjre @ERC55_ @solangegueiros @ethsamba
@juandaveth @ethcobogota
@entigdd @fa_async @EthereumBo

5/ Africa.
For too long, it felt like a missing piece of the Ethereum puzzle. I was told people there 'couldn't afford to care about values'—but conversations with @Ebunayo08 in 2020 and a trip with @yosephayele proved how wrong that assumption was.
Ethereum's values aren't just relevant there, they're essential to improving lives. It's been powerful to witness the next billion growing—not as a concept, but as a real force in motion, empowered by local programs like @borderlessaf, @Web3Bridge, and @grassEcon, AyaHQ, @ETHAccra,@TheSafariDAO, Builders Connect, @Eth_Enugu, @Web3Clubs, Ethiopia Blockchain Network.

6/ ArtScience Museum.
ETH Singapore, led by @not_qz and his team (and held at this iconic venue last year), brought together a new kind of audience, those at the intersection of art and science.
I spoke about real-world applications, like OpenCerts, which puts every Singaporean’s educational records—from 6th grade onward—on Ethereum.
This audience saw the bigger picture immediately. One person said, “I can clearly see the Infinite Garden growing.”
That moment also sparked an exciting opportunity I’ll share later this year. I can’t wait to see more cross-disciplinary collaborations bloom.
7/ Bhutan.
I had a chance to visit this country, often associated with monks, mountains, and the happiness index, in 2024.
I went because I heard they were working to grow their economy while preserving the deep values their culture holds, and I felt a strong alignment with what we’re trying to do.
Now, the country is quietly leading some of the most values-rooted digital transformations I’ve seen.
I hope to share more soon—and hope it becomes one of the most visionary examples for the world.
8/ Playfulness.
It has always been part of Ethereum’s soul.
The honey badger dance at EDCON Toronto blew everyone’s mind. @hudsonjameson legendary costumes, @austingriffith endlessly joyful energy when he teaches. There were moments so playful they even scared some people off 🙂
But when that spirit comes with real professional achievement, you get the feeling no one else can quite compete.
9/ What strikes me most about Ethereum's story?
It's been a true merge of minds (and of course, The Merge itself) from every corner of the world, including builders, artists, scientists, and philosophers. And among them, I especially appreciate the hidden figures working quietly with zero ego, connecting dots and enriching our Infinite Garden's soil.
10/ 10 years.
No grand conclusion, just gratitude.
For the people.
For the lessons.
For the strange, joyful ride.
And for being part of a dream that’s finally becoming real.
Let’s keep growing the Infinite Garden together. 🌱
