Just finished the first two volumes of the Edmund Morris trilogy on Theodore Roosevelt (I'll pick up Volume 3 next time I visit the US). There was a bit too much fluff, and I would have liked a lot more on the 1907 financial crisis and on the relationship between Wall Street and the US Treasury at the time, but this was nonetheless a fun read. It helped show how politically polarized the US has been for much of its history, and placed current problems and issues in a very useful historical context.
