I went on "This Week in Fintech" to share some lessons and frameworks from starting a company, working inside a large financial institution, and now investing. A few of the takeaways: - We are super early in AI x Financial services -- but the opportunity is massive given how human capital intensive the industry is - AI is a horizontal (not a vertical) just like fintech - The biggest companies will solve boring, labor-intensive workflows - AI brings differentiation, not defensibility - Historical moats (e.g., network effects) still matter - This era is different: there is both bottoms-up momentum and top-down pressure to drive AI adoption - The culture at large FIs is shifting -- creating unique opportunities for startups to wedge in with accelerated sales cycles
