I don't think we'll see civilization shifts take centuries anymore. The Wright brothers flew 120 feet in 1903. We landed on the moon just 66 years later. The internet went mainstream in the 1990s. In less than three decades, it collapsed the cost of information, giving anyone with a connection the ability to learn, publish, transact, and coordinate at global scale. Crypto is collapsing the cost of trust. It removes the bottlenecks of traditional finance: fees, friction, gatekeeping, and puts financial sovereignty in the hands of the user. Technology compounds faster when distribution is built in, incentives are aligned, and access is open by default. DeFi won't take centuries, defi is already here.

Some things take a lot of time to get used to: * Paper money (2 centuries in China, 2 centuries in Europe) * Company shares (decades to a century) How long will it take us to get used to Bitcoin? To decentralized crypto? To defi?
