The problem with all therapy is that the effectiveness of the therapy depends entirely on whether the therapist possesses deep personal wisdom and insight. A therapist is not a doctor treating a medical disorder. A therapist is there to deal with problems of the mind and spirit. Only those with great wisdom can do that. And a huge number of therapists have the wisdom and insight of a puddle. For millennia, people consulted the elders in their families and villages for wisdom. Now we turn to some random 29 year old woman with a degree in social work who has far less life experience than most of the people she's advising. It's absurd.

‘Couples therapy’ is usually just the woman bringing the man into a situation with her therapist in an effort to manipulate him to do what she wants. It’s a rigged game - and the therapist is on it, and will drag it out as long as possible for the $$.
Just find literally any person who has been married for 15+ years and has multiple children and they are guaranteed to have better advice than an unmarried, newly married, or divorced "couples therapist."
