⛽ Myth #2: One tonne of Thorium contains as much energy as 200 tonnes of Uranium!: FALSE! What’s happening is that people are comparing thorium used in a breeder reactor vs. uranium used in a non-breeder reactor. It’s true that breeder reactors can get ~200x more energy out of any nuclear fuel, but this has nothing to do with uranium vs. thorium. It’s just breeder reactors vs. non-breeders. In fact, uranium-238 contains about 1% more energy than Thorium-232 per mass.
