a new space race isn’t the worst thing we could do tbh politicals get a jingoistic war drum without the war, and an adversary they can position as a rival with stakes which won’t necessarily destroy the planet and techno-progress folks get something which will push our scientific capabilities but selling something like this in this fiscal environment seems insanely difficult also it’s not clear to me if China really cares about moon nuclear plants, but tbh this is not something i was tracking
