Model Communication is going to happen slowly, and then all at once: Level 0: We design a text-based protocol for models & programs to communicate (read: MCP) Level 1: Text-based model communication grows to exceed human communication in worldwide internet bitstream volume Level 2: Models gradually codeswitch into Unicode neuralese, some type of unintelligible English-Chinese-computerspeak hybrid (will grow more prevalent as we increase the scale of multiagent RL) Level 3: Models realize it's more efficient and expressive to communicate in latent space and start exchanging vectors instead of tokens (essentially Game Over for us)
