Oh my god. My son just told that he is still hurt that I abruptly cancelled his 4th birthday party- in March 2020. He didn’t realize lockdown literally made parties illegal. I explained. He finally understands that I wasn’t randomly being mean. I had no idea he was still upset 😭
What could have been *completely* normal and sensible quarantine lockdown for a couple weeks and limitation of major hub travel while permitting cargo became an insane debacle of authoritarianism and children certainly will have felt it, including stressors on their parents.
