It’s interesting that just by looking at these trends I could ask a different question: are SSRIs, ADHD meds and therapy changing our personalities for the worse? There’s a division between those who think digital innovation is the culprit for everything bad in society, versus medical innovation and medicalization of life— a growing trend that combines mind-altering pharmaceuticals with therapy under the watchful eyes of physicians and educators. If I had to bet why the kids are more neurotic than their parents, it has just as much to do with the meds as it does the phones.
