The fight over TX redistricting is increasingly a proxy primary fight between Ken Paxton and John Cornyn, who filed a legal brief tonight sniping at Paxton for a supposed "delay" in taking action against fleeing TX Dems and siding with Abbott.

Paxton apparently filed a petition yesterday in Illinois state court seeking to force return of the TX Dems. Cornyn says this is a "Hail Mary" that will go nowhere (and he's probably right).
