Today is the 5th anniversary of Lukashenko losing the Belarusian presidential election and then falsifying the results. Hundreds of thousands took to the streets of Minsk to protest the steal. Lukashenko’s regime seemed close to falling but the then unleashed a wave of terror, securing his hold on power. It’s worth noting that people protested under the colors of Belarus’ centuries old white-red-white flag, not the red-green Soviet monstrosity created by Lukashenko. A free Belarus, distancing itself from Russia and becoming an EU and NATO member state is just a matter of time ⚪️🔴⚪️
