Almost all "important" collections / artists got their start in bear markets, at low prices. Bull market starts are mostly an anti-pattern. It is also relates to collector psychology. True believers come in bear markets.

Bear markets produce better art than bull markets. Artists have to meet a higher threshold of quality to find collectors willing to spend when demand is soft. They also can work at a more sensible pace and be more thoughtful about their practice. Bull market velocity = digital slop velocity. Let’s not repeat the mistakes of old.
