I am delighted to add a new triptych from @thesarahshow’s new series, The Divine Comedy, to the collection. In the words of the artist: “Divine Comedy is a mischievous tale of an artist’s journey through life and crypto art. Each of these 100 artworks correlates to a canto of Dante's classic work of High Renaissance literature. This art was created by hand over 6 months using vintage KidPix software from 1993 – the artist’s first digital toolset." Sarah is unapologetically, refreshingly original, and she has been a digitally native artist for over 30 years now (!!), ever since her childhood self began playing with VCR/Camcorder feedback loops and KidPix. I selected these three pieces — The Devoted Ancestor, The Dance of the Wise, The Look Back — for different reasons, both aesthetic and personal. To me, they all capture the homely yet transcendent mysticism that I see as a theme across Sarah’s work. One fun tidbit on this series: I looked through all the pieces with my two daughters, ages 2 and 4, and they loved all of them. I suppose it makes sense that art created with KidPix would appeal to kids! Final note: If you're a cryptoart collector and you don't have a Zucker in your collection, I highly suggest you consider remedying that ASAP - the mint is still open.
