Offshore> $XOM ExxonMobil returns to Trinidad with huge exploration programme US supermajor ExxonMobil is returning to Trinidad & Tobago following an award of a large offshore deepwater block, agreeing to bankroll a new exploration effort after the company exited the country in 2003 following an unsuccessful exploration programme. On Tuesday, ExxonMobil signed a production sharing agreement in Port of Spain that calls for the US company to start collecting 3D seismic data on the licence block and then proceed with drilling two exploration wells. The licence acreage includes seven deepwater blocks that are located northwest of ExxonMobil's prolific Stabroek block offshore Guyana. (Offshore)
