I am mega bullish on hyperliquid and 50% of my portfolio in HYPE, but: a) token buybacks make no sense in terms of productive value for the ecosystem, $500M of hyperliquid buybacks could be used for acquiring users and products bringing actual volumes to hyperliquid and buying pressure for hype b) they do not affect the price action as much as everyone thinks, 3-5 million a day is nothing at these volumes That said, the token buyback as a meme and narrative is great, and Hyperliquid gained a lot from it. But I guess its contribution to the growth of $HYPE is super overestimated. Prove me wrong (actually curious to hear the arguments)
