Quite some L1s are choosing to become Ethereum L2s -and the economics make it compelling. @Celo saved $6.8M/year in security costs (≈ half a year of BNB Chain revenue) + one can save $500K–$1M/year by not running an own block explorer. L1 fees are negligible right now - and if they ever become meaningful again, switching back is always on the table. That's a compelling offer for all economically sane L1s.
