When advocating for creating a new private transaction type I've always been met with "just use [privacy protocol]" But... 1. If you're trying to do activity onchain, doesn't that double the transactions needed? That eats into scaling. 2. Something as important as scaling should be baked into the protocol. I don't want to rely on 3rd party implementations that could have privacy leaks, might end service, might have back doors, etc.
