I didn't define critical consciousness. I think Paulo Freire did, but it may precede him in the Liberation Theology literature.

The problem is that James Lindsay has defined “critical consciousness” as any action taken by a group with shared interests to counter an opposing group’s actions that are directed against them. What he’s basically saying is that all politics is Marxism. This is nothing more than an attempt to depoliticize politics itself. But of course, James Lindsay still gets to be political without being accused of Marxism because he’s smuggled his worldview in under the guise of neutrality while delegitimizing everyone else’s.
