I hold money in my wallet not because I'm saving it (I do not consider it part of my savings), but because I want to mantain a stock of media of exchange. The demand for money has nothing to do with saving. Do not confuse physical realities with praxeological realities.

Fiddlesticks. The supposed dichotomy is false. Money is a financial asset. Whoever holds it for any length of time, foregoing consumption to do so, is _saving_. If they hold money instead of consuming, a change in time preference is involved. 1/
