Fruits are intentionally designed by plants to be food for animals in order to spread their seeds. Flowers and nectar are designed to attract and feed pollinators, designed to be attractive Plants use a significant portion of their energy (30%+) on the production of nectar, flowers and fruit. So they’re spending a significant amount of their total energy to produce beauty and delicious food for us so long as we plant their seeds or help fertilize them Nature is full of brutality among organism relationships, but there’s also organism who cares about what we (and other animals) find appealing, and based on our preferences intelligently produce gifts for our pleasure

@GregoryGregman @enjoyoor To be clear I’m referring to transitory fossils which show evolution between entirely different genuses or families of species. We do have fossils of similar species like what we’ve observed ourselves, and very rare extreme speciation but still within kingdoms

@GregoryGregman @enjoyoor Also, would remind you I actually don’t have a strong preference here because I think it’s still a mystery. All evolution coming from a single cell is plausible on some level, but I think there might be other possibilities
