There's something really special about the schema that @grass developed for ClipTagger-12B. Once you start searching massive video datasets, using metadata filters for objects, production quality, logos, or actions becomes absolutely invaluable. The model we trained is great, but this was a real innovation that they came to us with.

We trained this model to flip the unit economics of frame captioning, labeling, and video search. Processing 1B frames used to cost on the order of millions but is now viable for teams that aren’t the largest companies. We see this unlocking petabyte+ scale video libraries, that previously were impossible to search, categorize, or extract clips from. We have already deployed this model at internet scale in partnership with @grass. If you have a use-case for this model shoot use a dm. We move extremely fast.

we're not a billion dollar lab. we're just 6 people in a cozy sf office who love distilling models and serving them at internet scale. we just beat claude 4 at video annotation for 17x less cost. couldn't have done it without @grass. incredible team to build with. and we're only getting started.
