NEW: Florida woman arrested for allegedly posing as a nurse and treating 4,486 patients despite never actually having a real license.
29-year-old Autumn Bardisa was arrested by Flagler County police for practicing as a nurse without a valid license.
Bardisa worked at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway Hospital, where she served over 4000 patients starting in June of 2024.
According to police, during the hiring process, Bardisa provided a license number that matched her first name but had a different last name.
Bardisa claimed she was recently married and had a new last name. She was then hired.
The fake nurse was apparently doing such a good job that she was offered a promotion. Suspicions were raised, however, when a co-worker found out that her nursing assistant license had expired.
She was then fired.
After a seven-month investigation, Bardisa was arrested.
Police say Bardisa stole the identity of a nurse who went to the same college as her. They didn't personally know each other.
