If you have 2 minutes to read this long post, you'll get my HONEST feedback about Chat-GPT5. I was excited to try Chat-GPT5, and I tested it live for 4+ hours today alongside Google Gemini 2.5 Pro and Claude 4. And the final verdict is... I am very disappointed with the results. Google Gemini performed the best for most prompts, and Claude 4 usually came in second (check the sheet below: 3 is good, 1 is bad) One task that ChatGPT really excelled at was creating a browser-based music generator that responds to inputs like moving the mouse and clicking (even with a supernice recording feature), but for everything else, it didn't deliver the expected results and often failed to produce a working example even after 2-3 prompts. To give full context, I tested Chat-GPT on the official website and then with Cursor. With Cursor, it worked WAY better, but still far behind the other models. The thing I hated the most it was it just being stuck since the first prompt and not putting out anything working, while the other 2 models almost always had an output of some type you can at least check and test. Today, I also discovered that Google Gemini allows you to create a multiplayer application. Yes, you heard right: it synchronizes state and transformation, for example, for a multiplayer game (using Firebase, but still impressive to get a working prototype!). For free. Of course it's not perfect but this opens up to so many possibilities for prototyping things, especially small multiplayer games. That said, I think GPT-5 is a strong model, and it's quite fast, but I was expecting it to absolutely outperform the other two less recent models, which was not the case, at least based on the benchmark I tested it with (I didn't try them before going live; this was a real-time test). I’d be happy to discuss with someone who thinks this is "the new model you SHOULD use or get left behind," because that was not my experience in this specific set of tests (which lasted over 4 hours). Morale: don't trust everything you see on social media, or even better, trust no one. Do your own tests and think with your own brain.
