3/4 here write for someone they expect to read within a day. Few write for posterity.

I think voluntary poverty insurance would mostly consist in cash transfers. If you don't think they help much re govt welfare, just shows that isn't mostly trying to achieve poverty insurance.

🚨 New bodycam footage shows a 16-year-old deli worker at Meijer reportedly disabled, ARRESTED over $110 in fruit cups and chicken taken across three months just to get through his shifts.
A $15 BILLION corporation didn’t show compassion. They built a case. They dragged a hungry kid out in cuffs.
Instead of a write up, or intervention, they built a case up to 110 dollars to prosecute.
This isn’t organized crime. It isn’t theft on a grand scale. It’s a teenager eating at work. And their answer was humiliation, handcuffs, and destruction of his future.
What America sees in that footage isn’t justice. It’s corporate cruelty at its worst. And now people are calling for a boycott against Meijer.

Should the US govt buy rights to Ozempic (or a later better substitute) to let all US citizens buy it at marginal cost?

We have norm-specific behaviors. China does terrible re wallet returning, but is clearly achieving great things via other norms.

Reposting the wallet study. Researchers left 17,000 wallets around the world, and different peoples did not return them at equal rates.

Denial is in fact probably pretty effective here. Most news readers probably forget about the "chasm" when reading most news.

"the wide moral chasm between journalists and the rest of the public is widely recognized by laypeople, and it significantly undermines their trust in journalistic outputs. Nonetheless, journalists tend to labor under the mistaken impression that their views and politics are broadly aligned with 'the people.'"
