For three full cycles of the moon after arriving in The Heart of the Forest, Isuko never touched the fishing rod on their back. Exhausted, they finally sat by a slow-moving river, watching the amber leaves drift by. Untying the rod was an act of surrender. They caught nothing for a week, but the point was no longer the catch.
