Penasar Mask

Penasar Kelihan consists of two siblings: the elder named Punta and the younger one named Wijil or Kartala. This character plays an important role in the Topeng Dance performance because their task is similar to that of the dalang (puppet master), acting as the narrator for the characters of Dalem, Patih, and as a translator of Old Javanese or Kawi into Bali. This character also plays the role of the director.
