A new "Kansai-style" eel restaurant opened near my home a while ago. I tried it today, and it was pretty good; it has the potential to become a famous restaurant. The cheapest option uses eels from Wenzhou, Zhejiang, priced at 1280 yen, which is about 8 dollars, making it quite a luxurious lunch. The taste is exactly the same as the neighboring Kanto-style restaurant, but the price is half, which is something only people from Osaka could pull off.
