For decades, 'growth mindset' has been a central cope supporting the Blank Slate dogma - it claimed that the belief in heritable, stable traits ('fixed mindset') would handicap development and stunt potential. Growth mindset became a holy dogma in educational psychology, and shaped public school teacher training for many years. Turns out, like almost all Blank Slate copes, that it was always fake, bad science.
